Online Therapy in Tennessee
Online therapy for children, teens, young adults, and parents across Tennessee.
Serving Nashville, Franklin, Brentwood, and beyond.
Specialized Care, Wherever You Are in Tennessee
I work with children, teens, young adults, and parents in Nashville, Franklin, Brentwood, Green Hills, Belle Meade, and Forest Hills. All sessions happen over secure telehealth, from the comfort and privacy of home.
Parents often reach out when they sense something is off, whether it's a teenager who looks fine on the surface but is quietly overwhelmed, a young adult who keeps achieving but feels like none of it counts, or a parent who can't tell whether what they're seeing is a phase or something deeper. Anxiety and OCD often look like this, and recognizing what's happening is the first step.

My Specialty Areas
-
When worry takes over, everything feels harder. I help teens and young adults understand what's driving their anxiety and learn practical strategies to feel brave again, including ERP for OCD.
-
That voice saying you're not good enough? I use a strengths-based approach to help teens and young adults turn down the volume on self-criticism and start seeing what makes them capable and worthy.
-
New school. Leaving for college. Parents divorcing. A big move. Major changes can shake your sense of identity. I help teens and young adults process what's happening and build resilience so they come through stronger.
-
When everything feels heavy and nothing seems to help, it's hard to know where to start. I create a space to process what's going on while we work together to rebuild motivation, connection, and hope.
-
There's no timeline for grief, and no "right" way to grieve. I help teens, young adults, and children make sense of loss in their own way, honoring what they're feeling without rushing them through it.
-
When tension at home feels constant, everyone suffers. I work with teens, parents, and families to break patterns that aren't working and build healthier ways of communicating.
-
Making friends, reading social cues, knowing what to say. These things don't come naturally to everyone, and I help kids and teens build confidence through practical strategies they can actually use.
-
Morning battles. Stomachaches before class. Refusing to go. I help kids and teens understand what's fueling their fear and develop strategies to face school with more confidence.
-
When your teen pushes back on everything, it's exhausting and often masks something deeper. I help families understand what's driving the behavior and develop strategies that reduce conflict.
-
The relationship between parent and child is the foundation for everything else. When that connection feels strained, I help families rebuild trust and find their way back to each other.

Why Tennessee Families Choose Light Minds?
Licensed in Tennessee, specialized in anxiety and OCD.
I hold an active Tennessee license (LMFT #2995) and bring over ten years of focused experience treating anxiety and OCD in young people. My training in ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention), CBT, and ACT means I don't just talk about anxiety. We work on it directly, building concrete skills your child or teen can use when the worry cycle starts.
Focused exclusively on children, teens, young adults, and parents.
My entire caseload is children (ages 8+), adolescents, young adults (18 to 26), and parents. It's the core of my practice, not a side offering. This means I understand the specific pressures facing each age group, from school anxiety and social dynamics in younger kids to identity questions and the transition to independence in young adults. In a market where most practices serve everyone from toddlers to retirees, that specialization shapes every session.
The SPACE program for parents who want to help.
When a child or teen isn't ready for therapy, parents often feel stuck. The SPACE program gives parents a structured, evidence-based way to change patterns at home that may be reinforcing anxiety. I'm certified through the Yale Child Study Center, and it's one of the most effective ways I work with families. It works with the parent directly, so the child doesn't need to attend sessions.
Telehealth that works.
All of my sessions happen over secure video. I've worked this way for years, and it means families across Tennessee aren't limited to whoever happens to have an office nearby. For teens and young adults who are already comfortable with video, telehealth often feels more natural than sitting in an office. It also provides privacy, which matters. I'm licensed in California, Florida, Utah, and Tennessee.

Your Questions, AnsweredFrequently Asked Questions
-
Most parents reach out when something feels off but they can't quite name it. Maybe your teen is more withdrawn, more irritable, or quietly struggling under pressure that used to feel manageable. You don't need a diagnosis or a crisis to start. A consultation is a good way to talk through what you're seeing and figure out whether therapy makes sense.
-
This is common, and there's still a path forward. The SPACE program is designed to work directly with parents to change the patterns at home that may be maintaining your teen's anxiety. Your teen doesn't need to attend sessions. Over time, the shifts you make as a parent can create real change in your teen's behavior and emotional experience, even without their direct participation.
-
Light Minds is an out-of-network provider. I provide superbills you can submit to your PPO for potential reimbursement. I also offer a limited number of sliding scale slots. Don't let cost stop you from reaching out.
-
Yes. Research consistently shows that telehealth therapy is as effective as in-person sessions for anxiety, OCD, and the other concerns I treat. For teens and young adults, it often works better. They're already comfortable on video, and being in their own space can make it easier to open up. I've provided all of my sessions this way for years, and it's how I do my best work.
-
Most clients start with weekly sessions and move to biweekly as they progress. We'll find a rhythm that works for your schedule and needs.
