Hi, I’m Brooke.

Brooke Rawls, LMFT, at Palisades Park in Santa Monica

I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) located in West Los Angeles, CA. My private practice, Light Minds Child and Family Therapy, is dedicated to supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and parents.

I have over 10 years of experience supporting children, teens, young adults, and parents in a variety of settings such as pre and post adoption services, alcohol and drug services, community mental health services, schools, and outpatient mental health services.  I firmly believe that in order for my clients to see growth and obtain a “light mind”, it’s essential to have a therapeutic environment that is non-judgmental, trusting, validating, and supportive.

All of my services take place via telehealth or within the client’s home/community.  The traditional office setting can be intimidating, lead to increased resistance, limit accessibility of services, and create clinical blind spots on the client’s real day-to-day life.  Upon entering the space of my clients via telehealth or in-home, I strive to work toward building rapport through a warm and strengths-based approach.  I want my clients to feel like they are meeting with someone who truly cares rather than a robotic mental health professional.  Creating a space of trust is more important than any coping tool or guidance that I can offer my clientele.

I offer telehealth services for those located in California, Florida, and Utah. I also currently see clients for in-home therapy sessions in the following areas:

Process for Getting Started

  • Step 1: Schedule Consult and Intake Session

Use the contact form to schedule a consultation.

After the consultation, you have the option to schedule a 50 minute intake session via telehealth, where I can learn more about your needs, answer any questions you may have, and determine whether we are a good fit.

Prior to our intake meeting, I will send over my intake forms for you to review and sign through the client portal. These forms must be completed before the intake session.

  • Step 2: Identify Plan for Sessions

There is no pressure and no commitment to sessions following the intake session. I care most that you find the right clinician for your needs. After the intake session, I will follow up to see how the meeting went and whether you would like to move forward with sessions. If I am the right clinician for you then we will develop a plan for the structure of sessions moving forward.

  • Step 3: See Growth and Change

I am determined to see you succeed in reaching your goals. I cannot promise that the journey will be easy, but I can assure you that you are no longer alone. We will work together as a team to get you unstuck and living the life you want to live.

Start holding space for yourself.

I'm ready to get started!
